Sandra Dunn - L'Arche, a School of the Heart Tuesday, October 15 at 7:30
p.m. St. John Fisher Parish hall. L’Arche is an international federation of
communities where men and women with intellectual disabilities, and those who
choose to share life with them, live and work together. Founded by Canadian Jean
Vanier in 1964, L’Arche now has more than 125 communities in 40 countries.
Sandra Dunn is a long-time parishioner of St. Thomas à Becket parish. She and
her husband Norm, as well as their 5 daughters are involved in many aspects of
parish life. From 2002 until 2006, Sandra was a member of L’Arche Montreal,
working as an “assistant” in a L’Arche home and later in L’Arche Montreal’s
workshop/day center. Sandra will be speaking about how she came to the decision
to join the L’Arche community, what it is like to live at L’Arche, and how
working with L’Arche taught her values that she has carried with her throughout
the years. All are welcome.
