There’s a personal silent prayer aspect to the retreat that really invites people to enter more deeply in the scriptures to listen to what God is personally saying to them there. There are opportunities to meet with me or another spiritual director (in retreats it is the best chance to get time with me). And there is also an optional (but encouraged) component in which people learn to converse spiritually, to really listen first of all to what God is telling them and to be able to discern what God invites them to share with others and then listen attentively to what God has placed on the hearts of others to share with them. It should be an enriching weekend, one which parish communities can really take advantage of to bring some rich gifts of the Spirit back to the parish. - Fr Sylvester
