DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY DEVOTIONS AT ST. JOHN FISHER PARISH
Sunday, April 7, 2024, is Divine Mercy Sunday. On this day, we contemplate the Mystery of Redemption as the greatest revelation of Divine Mercy towards us. The most singular grace which Jesus attached to the celebration of this feast is: "The soul that will go to confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment", observing of course the normal conditions for a plenary indulgence. Jesus said to Sister Faustina: This Feast emerged from the very depths of My mercy, and it is confirmed in the vast depths of My tender mercies. Every soul believing and trusting in My mercy will obtain it (Diary, 420).
The Divine Mercy devotions program is as follows:
2:30 p.m. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and Silent Adoration
Confessions
3:00 p.m. Divine Mercy Chaplet
Litany of Divine Mercy
Stations of the Cross
Benediction
4:00 p.m. Mass
In order to properly prepare for this great feast, Jesus asked that a novena of chaplets be made, starting on Good Friday, the day He first revealed how merciful and loving He was, by dying for us on the Cross. Jesus promised, "By this novena I will grant souls all possible graces".
